The nickel finish MK 40 Microphone Capsule from Schoeps has the same features as the MK 4 S, but in addition emphasizes the frequency response in the 9 kHz region by 4 dB. This results in improvement of speech intelligibility, particularly in very reverberant venues such as churches. It is used primarily for sound reinforcement of speech, and is not recommended for music recording.
