PAG 9793 AR124NPD charger
PAG's microprocessor-controlled, AR124NPD battery charger uses "Auto Charge Rate Selection" (ACS) software to detect the battery cell chemistry, state-of-charge, capacity, condition and cycle history through its positive and negative terminals and optimally charge the battery. It can be used with PAG Li-Ion, Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries within the ranges 4.8V to 14.8V and 1Ah to 10Ah. As with all PAG chargers, it employs sequential charging, allowing one battery to be fully charged, ready for use before the others.

Apart from the four NP1 "pocket" direct connections for batteries, each channel on the charger has an alternative switched 2.1mm co-axial (PP90) socket connection to allow adaptation to alternative standards

PAG 9314 ZL-NP battery
Apart from their own proprietary PAGlok battery system, PAG offers (Sony) NP1 compatible zero-lithium (ZL-NP) chemistries of battery, with improved capacity. The ZL-NP 10 Amp continuous current capability is important operationally when the camera and lighting are powered from the same source. These batteries are charged using PAG’s chargers

The PAG 9314 ZL-NP is the 13.2V, 2.2Ah slide-in Zero Lithium NP type battery. These batteries are travel friendly featuring NiMH chemistry and 40 watt-hour capacity.

Unlike conventional cells that are damaged by fast charging, PAG individually selects and balances each cell for optimum life and performance.
13.2 Volts
Professional camcorders operate on a 12-volt system. As per their design, a majority of camcorders will activate a low voltage warning or even cease to operate when they determine that the battery has fallen below 11-volts. Most equipment manufacturers suggest that a higher voltage battery should be used whenever possible.
Output Protection
The PAG ZL-NP battery is protected against short circuits and excessive currents by means of a self-resetting protection device.
