Paying for an item
After negotiating the price, should the buyer wish to proceed with buying the item, he or she will then pay the agreed price plus carriage, insurance and any VAT or other taxes, where applicable.
Payment will be made into our Payment Protection Service Client's Bank account, usually via bank transfer. You will need to instruct your bank to make payment to us. We cannot do that for you. The buyer will also be responsible for all and any bank charges which may be incurred in making the payment. We are unable to accept payment by Credit Card.
Payment will be in the listed currency of the item being purchased, that is Pounds Sterling, Euro or US Dollars. If necessary, you will need to ask your bank to make the currency conversion. If you are paying in a currency other than your own, then it could be cheaper for you to use https://transferwise.com/ to make the payment.
When instructing your bank to make payment in a 'foreign' currency do not attempt to calculate the amount to pay. The buyer must tell the bank the amount to be paid in the defined currency so that the bank makes the currency conversion for the actual amount to be paid in the buyer's local currency. The buyer, will also pay all bank charges.
The Buyer will be responsible for any import duties or other taxes due on delivery, where applicable. Please be aware that if you live in the EC, you could be liable to pay import duties, plus VAT on the import duties, for items imported from outside the EC.
The buyer will also be responsible for any shipping and insurance charges, unless otherwise agreed.
For British Residents a useful site if you wish to calculate Duty and Vat to be paid on imported goods is http://www.hmce.gov.uk/ For residents of the EC please see Value Added Tax (VAT)
It is crucial that you read the step by step instructions both on screen and in emails, and complete the instructions as given. Problems only occur when they are not followed or understood.
Taking delivery of an item
Should the package show any sign of damage when it is delivered do not sign for it, nor take delivery, because this would absolve the shipping company of any liability and adversely affect any insurance claim.
The buyer will be given 24 hours maximum, after delivery, in which to examine the item. If all is well, the seller will then be paid.
Should the item not be as described in the on-line description, or not functioning if it was sold as a functioning item, the seller and BB List must be informed through the messaging system that there is a problem. If the item is to be returned to the seller it must be returned, preferably by the same carrier used to ship the item, and collected by that carrier within 48 hours of delivery. It should be tracked and insured. It is the buyer’s responsibility to carefully pack the item so the item does not incur any damage during transit. The seller is allowed up to 24 hours after delivery in which to check the item has not been tampered with or opened by the buyer, without permission, and is seemingly in the condition prior to despatch by the seller. If the item is not returned by the buyer, within the 48 hour period, after delivery, it is deemed that the buyer is satisfied and the seller will be immediately paid by BB List, less any commission and any other charges and VAT, where this is applicable.
Collection of items
Buyers can arrange their own shipping or collect in person or arrange to meet the seller. However, payment must still be made to us, under Escrow, prior to collection or meeting. Please read FAQs
